Hey Rose, I'm starting to wonder if "Secrets of the Ice Cave" is really the slated title for the sequel. I just found the entry on the trademarkia website and it seems to indicate it's for a video game. From the beginning, I never really liked the title anyway. It struck me as contradictory to Dean's statement regarding the sequel as "not feeling like another random adventure" and this superficial title that's centric on the setting/environment makes it seem so in my eyes.

Um…it’s a working title, I believe. Video games typically have the same name as the movies they’re based on. But still…working titles can be changed, as can video game names cause it’s still over a year until the movie comes out and there’s no formal promotion for it yet. But other than Dragons 2…Secrets of the Ice Cave is the only other name I’ve seen for it.

And…I wouldn’t worry too much about the title, per say, the title of the first movie was kinda misleading so…I’m not too worried at the moment. From what I’ve heard the sequel is a lot of deepening to family drama and widening the httyd world so….it’s sounding pretty continual to me.

Does your fandom realize that HTTYD 2 is taking a huge risk in character progression, you know how people can be, and how a lot of people HATE change when it comes to things like this. Some people are so over the top about there char's , that when someone tweaks them in the slightest bit, and they don't approve, they freak out!

I think we’re all way to excited to freak out about character change.

And I, for one, consider it to be character development. Which, yes is a risk cause most animated anything is too afraid to develop their characters…especially from teenagehood to young adulthood but that’s what makes HTTYD so special.

But thanks for the concern!

the color is TERRIBAD

but i wanted to try a new coloring method.

Which sucked.

This is my way of coping with the idea that the characters are going to be redesigned for the next flick. Kind of a bizzare concept if you ask me.

But no one asked me. LOL

HTTYD sequel sketches from from Tom Owen’s Blog.

Some more possible sequel/winter stuff from Tom Owen’s Blog. Nothing special going on here, unless, of course, you’re a Ruffnut/Fishlegs shipper. Then I’ll bet you’re very excited!! And there’s some subtle Hiccstrid as well.

I think it’s obvious that Tuffnut does not approve XP

Some more cuteness from Tom Owens. These “new winter outfits” are pretty much a given for the sequel, I’m guessing.

A new Hiccup with longer hair and a new outfit, courtesy of Tom Owen’s Blog. I hope this is his getup for the sequel, because I’m digging it!
